3 Things You Can Do to Better Manage Your Stress Levels

Balancing stresses of life can be a difficult task to tackle, but with the right tools and approach - you can build your resilience to stress through the mind and body tactics we’ve mapped out below!

#1 - Be Brilliant at the Basics. It may seem cliche to tell you to sleep more, drink more water, + breath smarter, but we feel those basic necessities to live are often the first things we sacrifice when life gets tough. The best thing you can do to help you manage your stress is be brilliant at these basics:

  • Get 7-8 hours of sleep per night

  • Drink half of your bodyweight (lbs) in ounces of water each day

  • When you aren't doing moderate to vigerous exercise or activity, focus on breathing in and out of your nose only

#2 - Prioritize your Mental + Physical Health. Along with being brilliant at the basics, here are a few other basic mind/body tips:

  • Develop a Gratitude Attitude - Tell yourself or journal what you are grateful for each day, we all have something to be grateful for and the chaos of our lives makes it difficult to keep that front of mind unless we are intentional about practicing

  • Focus on What You Can Control - Media outlets, toxic people in your life, poor/unhealthy habits, etc.

  • Good Foods for Good Moods - The more whole foods, the better. A nutrient dense diet arms you with the fuel your body needs to recovery from and prepare for stress.

#3 - Use exercise to strategically build your body's tolerance to stress. Exercising creates stress, and the results we feel + see are a byproduct of how well we manage our training stress with our life stress. Truly optimizing this is a combination of having a plan to build from where you currently are, as well as being mindful enough to know when to adjust your plan. Having any type of feedback tool (i.e. - Heart Rate Tracking, HRV, Journaling, etc.) or a coach is a game-changer here!
